Bill Schultz is an animation producer, voice actor, and writer. His real name is William "Bill" Schultz. On June 11, 1960, he was born in the United States, in New York City. He moved to Los Angeles after getting his degree from the University Of Illinois Champaign-Urbana campus.Â
He started his career by working at Capitol Records in Los Angeles but quit nine months later to work for an indie film producer. He also worked on several low-budget films as a production assistant and production staffer. He finally found work at California Pictures Television, where he worked on several primetime television shows.
He moved from the Santana Barbara production staff to Marvel Productions in 1986. He contributed to several projects, including The Transformers, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Jim Henson's Muppet Babies, and others. In late 1986, Schultz got hired as Vice-President of Production and Development at Film Roman. Schultz was also responsible for the studio's rise over the past nine years. And he also served as the producer for six seasons on two FOX primetime series, The Simpsons and King of the Hill.
He worked on more Film Roman Cartoons such as Garfield and friends, Mortal Kombat, The Mask, Richie Rich, Tom & Jerry: The Movie, etc. In 1995, he left Film Roman to find more opportunities. He teamed up with Mike Young, a Los Angeles-based independent animator, to produce Voltron: The Third Dimension. And that partnership is still going strong today. Schultz got hired after assisting in the formation of Cartoon Network Studios and served as the network's Supervising Producer for non-Hanna-Barbara series such as Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Schultz and his MYP (Mike Young Productions) colleagues merged with the French entertainment and animation business Monscoop Group in 2005.
In January 2007, he launched Kabillion, a new multi-platform kids entertainment service while working for Taffy Entertainment. He also found a new cross-production with UWink while serving as Kabillion’s CEO. In September 2010, Schultz launched an animation studio named Home Plate Entertainment. Schultz also got hired to help the Nickelodeon Network set up its studios in 2018.
Schultz has two Daytime Emmys and two Primetime Emmys to his name.
