Nigella Lucy Lawson is an English food writer and television cook. She was born on the 6th of January in 1960 Wandsworth, London, England. She received her elementary education from Godolphin and Latymer School. She received her education from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. Her family, owned homes in Kensington and Chelsea. Her parents were from Jewish families. She participated in the third series BBC family-history documentary series Who Do You Think You Are? In this series she got to know her ancestors were Ashkenazi Jews who were from Eastern Europe and Germany, earlier she believed to have Sephardi ancestry. Nigella Lawson first worked in publishing under publisher Naim Altallalh. At the age of 23, she began journalism when Charles Moore invited her to write The Spectator. At the age of 26, she was a deputy editor of The Sunday Times in 1986. She became a freelance writer. In the United Kingdom, she wrote for The Daily Telegraph, The Evening Standard, The Observer, Gourmet, and Bon Appetit in the United States.
