Fatima Ptacek is an English film and television actress who has worked in several Hollywood movies and series. She is best known as the lead actor in the 2012 Academy Award-winning film Curfew and its 2014 full-length feature film version Before I Disappear. Fatima has worked as a voice artist in Nickelodeon's animated TV show Dora the Explorer since 2010 and Dora and Friends: Into the City! She is born on 20th August in 2000 in New York City. Ptacek is a gymnast and was seen performing at United States of America Gymnastics Level 7. In the year 2010, she said that she was aiming for a scholarship to Harvard or Yale.
Her childhood wish was to be elected as President of the United States. From the year 2018 she started attending Stanford University. As a child actress, Fatima has appeared in more than 70 television commercials. Fatima was one of the highest-paid child models in the world, earning approximately $250,000 annually as of 2010. Ptacek was given a three-year contract as Dora in the series Dora the Explorer, in the year 2010, with the first new TV episodes with her voice in January 2012. Fatima replaced the previous voices by Kathleen Herles and Caitlin Sanchez. She once shared that she was a fan of the character Dora before being cast, amongst 200 girls who were auditioning. The role earned her a "Best Young Actress - Television" at the Imagen Awards in 2012. She is also nominated in the 2014 awards for "Outstanding Performance in a Children's TV Series".
