Nancy Kulp was an American film and television actress. Nancy Jane Kulp was born on 28th August 1921 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, US. Her father, Robert Tilden Kulp, was a travelling salesman and her mother, Marjorie C. Snyder, was a school teacher and principal. Around 1935, they moved to Dade County, Florida. In 1943, Nancy graduated in journalism from Florida State University, then Florida State College for Women. She initiated her master's degree in English and French from the University of Miami. During the time, she also worked for Miami Beach Tropics newspaper as a feature writer; she uses to write the profile of the celebrities. During the World War II in 1944, Mary left her masters to serve the US Naval Reserve; she was the member of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service. She received many accolades, including the American Campaign Medal. Nancy served until the year 1946. Nancy married Charles Malcolm Dacus on 1st April 1951 in Dade County, Florida. The couple separated in the year 1961. After her marriage, she moved to Hollywood, California where she worked in the studio publicity department. There, George Cukor, the director encouraged her to try acting. In 1951, she made her film debut by appearing in the film 'The Model' as a character actress.

Nancy was well received on television too; she was praised for her comedic skills. She appeared on 'The Bob Cummings Show' in 1955. In 1956, Nancy appeared in an episode of the show 'I Love Lucy' in which she played the role of an English maid. For the pilot of 'The William Bendix Show,' she played the role of a housekeeper. In 1962, Nancy grabbed the role of Jane Hathaway in the CBS's TV series 'The Beverly Hillbillies'; for this role she earned an Emmy Award nomination. In the film 'The Night of the Grizzly' in 1966, Nancy played the role of Wilhelmina Peterson; her costars were Clint Walker and Martha Hyer. Nancy worked with Democratic State Committee on several projects in Pennsylvania, her home state. In 1984, she ran unopposed as the Democratic nominee from 9th Pennsylvania's 9th congressional district for the United States House of Representatives. After leaving politics, she worked at Juniata College, as an artist in residence. Later she went on to teach acting. In 1990, Nancy was diagnosed with cancer; she received chemotherapy but unfortunately, died on 3rd February 1991 in California.
