Nancy Malone

Nancy Malone was an American actress, director and producer. She started her career as an actress by appearing on the television. She has acted in several TV series like ‘I Remember Mama’, ‘Robert Montgomery Presents’ and ‘Suspense’. In the TV series ‘Naked City’ (1960-63) she played the role of Libby, in the ‘Guiding Light’ she appeared as Robin Lang Bowden Fletcher and played the role of Clara Varner in the TV series ‘The Long Hot Summer’. She also acted in an episode of ‘The Big Valley’ (1968). On the final episode of the TV series ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ aired on 25th March 1968, she appeared in the role of Dr. Edith Gibson. Nancy made her debut on Broadway in the play ‘Time Out for Ginger’. She was the first female vice-president of television at 20th Century Fox in the year 1976.

For her contribution towards the improvement of women’s position and the importance of the work in the entertainment industry, she was awarded one of the first Crystal Awards by Women in Film for outstanding women. She won an Emmy Award for producing the TV show ‘Bob Hope: The First 90 Years’ (1993). She was a Lifetime member of The Actors Studio. She liked playing football and baseball and was also a painter and a poet. On 8th May 2014, Nancy died due to pneumonia when she was fighting leukemia.
