Lily's mother started dating Harry Enfield and for a while, Alison and her children lived with him at his estate. Lily changed schools a lot and has attended Hill House School, Bedales School, and Millfield among others. Several of the educational institute that she attended would expel him due to her drinking and smoking habits. Rachel Santesso had heard Lily sing.

When Rachel became famous, she invited Lily to her office and would teach her singing. She sang Baby Mine at a school concert and decided to become a singer. She can also play a violin, trumpet, guitar, and piano.

It left her heartbroken, and for a while, she studied horticulture but eventually came back to her passion. In 2005 Regal Recordings signed her and gave her a budget of twenty-five thousand pounds to make her album. However, they were preoccupied with other releases are to which they were unable to lend her unconditional support.

As a result Lily released some of her songs on social networking site and gained several followers. As she became famous her label started to take more interest in her, and soon she released Alright, Still, her debut album. Lily then publicized It's Not Me, It's You, Who'd Have Known, and Sheezus and has done performed at several tours.

In 2007, she dated Ed Simons. However, they broke up shortly after Lily had a miscarriage. She battled depression after the relationship ended. Two years later, Lily started going out with Sam Cooper and gave birth to a stillborn. However, they got married to each other on June 11, 2011, in Cranham, Gloucestershire, England. Lily later gave birth to two daughters. However, the relation went kaput after five years, and they divorced each other.
