JKS’s acting talent was initially noticed by an agent when he was only five and helped him to establish as a child model. Jang’s parents were facing a financial crisis at that time, and this agent, who was a buyer of his house saw Jang and realized his potential. On his advice only, Jang’s parents allowed their young kid to enter the world of modeling.

Along with his modeling, Jang continued his studies and went on to attend high school in New Zealand. He also attended Nelson College in New Zealand as he wanted to learn different languages like Japanese and English. Jang has been consistent since he made the debut. He is regular in films, television shows, and music videos.

He was first seen in the sitcom, Selling Happiness in 1997 on HBS channel. He got regular work after that. He was again featured in a sitcom, Nonstop 4. At that time, he was in New Zealand for his studies, but he came back to South Korea for this sitcom.
