Randall Wallace is an American film producer, director, and writer, popular amongst the audience for his work in movies like We Were Soldiers (2002), Pearl Harbor (2001), Braveheart (1995), The Man in the Iron Mask (1998). Mostly known for his involvement in Hollywood as a writer, Wallace began writing literary pieces when he was just seven years old. Born on 28th July 1949 in Jackson city, Tennessee, Wallace went to E.C. Glass High School, Lynchburg, Virginia.
After completing his schooling, he graduated from Duke University, where he studied Literature, Religion, and the Russian language. Apart from that, he also taught martial arts and is a black belt holder himself. During the initial stages of his career, Wallace spent a lot of time with renowned producer Stephen J Cannell, writing scripts for movies and song lyrics.
But he got the recognition he deserved after writing the screenplay for the blockbuster film Braveheart (1995), which won five Oscar awards, four BAFTA Awards, one Golden Globe Award, and five other Oscar Nominations.
In 1998, Wallace made his debut in Hollywood as a director with ‘The Man in The Iron Mask,’ starring Leonardo dicaprio. Apart from scripts, he is also known for writing lyrics. Some of his popular songs are Flame in Your Fire, Mansions of The Lord, etc.
