Tamara Jenkins

Tamara Jenkins is one of the known personalities. She was born in May 2,1962 .Her star sign is Taurus. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After the divorce of her parents her father took the custody of Tamara with her three brothers., They lived in Beverly Hills .Finally Tamara’s custody was given to her oldest brother.

Tamara, is an American Screenwriter, and movie director. She sometimes acted too. She enrolled for her studies to Cambridge Rindge and Latin school, where she completed her schooling and went to University of Massachusetts Boston After that she joined New York University where she learned about film making afterwards. There only she completed her first short film named “Fugitive Love”. She also attended the Sundance Institute of Screenwriting and Filmmakers lab. She started her career with a short film, Fugitive Love in 1991. She is best known for her two feature films, one was Slums of Beverly Hills (1998) and another one is The Savages(2007).

Another black and white short film of hers got released in 1993. It was called Family Remains. This short film was granted a Special Jury Prize in 1994 at Sundance Film Festival. “Slums of Beverly Hills” are short autobiographical film based on her personal experience in Beverly Hills. She is both the writer and director of this short film. After the success of this short film, it was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards for the best feature and screenplay. She took a nine year gap before starting her next project, but finally decided to travel with non profit film, essay publication and TV work. In 2002,

Jenkins got wedded to screenwriter, Jim Taylor. To star with her subsequent screenplays she shifted to Yaddo, after her marriage. Therefore Jenkins built upon her theatre work at the New Group.
