Billy Sammeth was born on 3rd of December 1951 in the most populous borough of New York City, Brooklyn. He is also known by the name William Sammeth. He is a writer, TV producer, and talent manager. He was brought up in Brooklyn till 12 and then moved to California. His father’s name is Philip, who worked at the Walt Disney Productions as an executive. He worked in the merchandising department. Billy started going to college in the capital city of Ohio, Columbus in 1969. But in the very first week of joining college, he suffered brain concussion due to an accident while riding a horse.

Thus, he had to take a medical leave from his college. He then worked for a PR firm. The firm had many Hollywood celebrities as clients. It was here at this agency that he became friends with the Osmond Brothers and became their PR representative while he was still in school. In 1971, he dropped out of college and started working for Mike Curb in the MGM Records. When he was just 21, he launched the Osmondmaniacraze in the publications for teenagers throughout the world. In 1973, he joined a personal management firm named the Katz-Gallin Enterprises. Sammeth finally established his talent managing agency in 1983 and named it, The Bill Sammeth Organisation.

He was also called the ‘American Simon Cowell’ byCilla Black when Sammeth attended her show, ITV’s Soapstar Superstar. Sammeth started writing shows in 1986. He wrote The Late Show. It was a talk show aired on the Fox channel. The host of the show was Joan Rivers. It was a huge success and became very popular. He is also credited for the writing of a short movie, titled, Joan Rivers and Friends Salute Heidi Abromowitz, in 1985. He was involved in a controversy with singer Cher in 1999. She fired him.

Sammeth claimed that he was supposed to get the 15% profits made by her on her album, Believe. He also sued his former client Joan Rivers of defamation for showing Billy in a bad light in her autobiography. In 1985, Billy was awarded the Personal Manager of the Year Award by the Conference of Personal Managers. At the Pollstar Awards, he got nominated in the same category.
