Orla Brady

Orla Brady is an Irish Tv, Theatre, and film actress. She was born on 28 March 1962 in Dublin, Ireland. Brady was educated at the Ursine Convent in Dublin and Loreto Convent in Wicklow. She moved to Paris at the age of 25 to study theatre from Phillipe Gaulier. She earned a place at the École Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris, an Institute teaching theatrical mime, founded by the miming legend Marcel Marceau. She married Nicholas Brandt, an English photographer, in 2002 and currently lives in Southern California.

She began her theatre career with Balloontisc Theatre Company, working in plays like Hamlet, Finnegans Wake, Gate Theatre, House of Bernarda Alba, Three Sisters, Philadelphia, Here I Come!, Blinded by the Sun, etc. She won the Golden Glymph Award for Best Actress in 1999 for her performance in A Love Divided. In late 1980, her photos were featured in The Illustrator's Figure Reference Manual. She debuted as an actress portraying Vanessa in Words Upon the Window Pane (1994). She has done many films over the years like The Luzhin Defence (1999), Silent Grace (2001), Fogbound (2002), Last Night (2006), 32A (2007), Wayland's Song (2013), The Price of Desire (2015), The Foreigner (2017), Rose Plays Julie (2019), The Other Me (2019), etc.

She made her Television debut in the series Minder in 1993.
