Olivia Wilde was born on March 10th, 1984 in NewYork, United States. She of English origins as her grandparents and other family members were renowned members and subordinates of the British Empire, even during the period of colonization. Olivia’s parents are journalists, which has made her more passionate about the media industry, apart from giving her an analytical outlook on things in life. The prospect of acting had fascinated her from a very young age, and she had wanted to be an actress ever since the age of three. Wilde started off as a model and worked her way into television first, before appearing in movies. She appeared in supporting roles in popular movies such as ‘Girl Next Door’ and ‘alpha Dog’ etc. She also appeared in a cast in the series ‘O.C’ from 2004 to 2005. In 2007, she got an opportunity to create her niche in the media field after signing a contract with the popular television series- ‘House’.
In the series, Olivia gained a lot of acclamation for her portrayal of the bisexual intern medical graduate Dr. Remy Hedley. She appeared in a prominent role in the 2011 Disney film ‘Tron: Legacy, in which she plays the role of a trusted friend to the lead character (played by Jeff Bridges). Her next film showed her acting opposite to the legendary actor Danial Craig in the science fiction film ‘Cowboys and Aliens’. Apart from modelling and acting, Olivia has also taken up the role of a producer, by being responsible for bringing out various award winning Documentaries such as ‘Body Team 12’, ‘Rider and the Storm’ and ‘Sun City Picture House’. Body Team 12, which was about a group of people who are assigned the duty of disposing of the dead bodies of Ebola Victims, won the best documentary award at the 2015 Tribecan Film Festival.
