Malin Akerman

Malin Akerman is Swedish but a Canadian actress, model, and singer. Malin birth name is Malin Maria Akerman. Her birthplace is Stockholm, Sweden. She has spent most of her life in Toronto, Canada. She was born to Magnus Akerman, an insurance broker, and mother Pia Sandstorm, an aerobics teacher and part-time model.

She has one sister. At the age of 5, she starts appearing in TV commercials. At the age of 6, her parents got divorced, and her father moved back to Sweden. She attended Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School apart from this she has attended many schools.

She has also gone to Catholic School but as a religion, she was raised as a Buddhist. Malin attended North Toronto Collegiate University and later, in her OAC year she enrolled to Dante Alighieri. Later on, she decided to become a child psychologist, so she took admissions in York University.

She was introduced to modeling industry by her mother but at the age of 12, she decided to quit modeling. When she was 17, Ford supermodel title was won by her. She continued her acting to become financially strong and also to support her education financially in York University.

While doing both reading and acting, she found the later half fun. So, she drop out from university and start giving more focus on acting as her source of income. To pursue her career in acting as a full time, she moved to Los Angeles in 2001.

She made her debut in the year 1997 through a Canadian science fiction series ‘Earth: Final Conflict’. Malin had a good career in singing also. She had worked in a band name ‘The Petalstones’ as lead vocalist. In contrast, she thought that she is not a good singer and focused more on her career as acting.
