She is recognized well for portraying deputy chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in a crime drama named The Closer on TNT. Kyra Sedgwick is an American actress and producer. The role she did in The Closer won her a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. Born in New York City, Kyra’s Mother was a Speech teacher as well as an educational/family therapist and her father was a venture capitalist. Although her parents parted ways when she was mere four years old and eventually got a divorce when she was 6, and her mother got married to Ben Heller.
Kyra completed her Schooling from Friends seminary and attended Sarah Lawrence College, but in the middle of her session, she transferred to the University of Southern California for graduating with a theater degree.
