Jane Winton

Jane Winton was born on 10th October, 1905 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She is one of the widely recognized Hollywood stars, who achieved great heights at a very young age.

As of her profession, Winton was an actress, dancer, painter, writer, and a singer. She started her career doing stage dance performances.

She debuted in the movie, ‘Tomorrow’s Love’ in the year 1925. After that she did many films including, Why Girls Go Back Home, ‘Sunrise’, Melody of Love, The Crystal Cup, The Honeymoon Express, The Furies, Hell’s Angels, Yellow Lily, A Notorious Affair, The Patsy, Bare Knees, Show Girl in Hollywood, The Fair Co-Ed, and Burning Daylight. Her last movie was ‘Limelight’, which was released in 1936.

She was married to Charles Kenyon, who was a screenwriter. Charles and Jane were together for just three years (1927-1930). Gottlieb, who was a stockbroker, property owner in Arizona, and also a contract bridge player. Winton also owned many residences in places like Katonah, New York, and Phoenix.

After leaving the industry in the 1930s, she joined the opera industry. She performed in USA, as well as abroad. In the year 1933, Winton worked for an opera production company, the National Grand Opera. She sang Nedda for the production named, I Pagliacci. Winton was then a known performer in England for her singing, as well as for her work on the radio.

She was also a Novelist. In 1951, Jane wrote her first novel, Park Avenue Doctor, which was published by Frederick Fell. She wrote her second book in the year 1952 entitled, Passion Is the Gale.

Jane Winton died on 22nd September 1959 in a hotel room, in New York. The cause of her death remains a mystery to date.
