Dascha Polanco

Dascha Polanco was born on 3rd September 1982 in Dominican Republic. At her young age, she shifted to the United States of America. As a child, she always wanted to be an actress, but she hesitated to act because of her weight. She completed her bachelors in psychology from Hunter College. Dascha started working in Healthcare industry with the aim of becoming a nurse after her graduation. She also worked as a hospital administrator in Montessori Medical Centre, Bronx. She then got herself registered at an acting studio.

She got determined to act whil she was working as a nurse. Dascha visited BIH Studios where she attended a show and signed an agreement with the Talent Agency Shirley Grant Management. It is this show that has got her the real fame. She played the role of Dayanara Diaz aka Daya who is a women’s prison inmate as per 2012 season. She has worked in several movies as well.

In 2013 she made her first appearance for her independent drama film ‘Gimme shelter’. Apart from independent Cinemas she also acted in several comedy talkies like ‘play joy’ in 2015 and ‘the Cobbler’ in 2014. In 2016, she started for her next film ‘The perfect match’. Dascha, along with many Hollywood’s biggest football fans, was signed by NFL to endorse their women's apparel LINE. Polanco received the Guild Awards for ‘outstanding performance by an Ensemble in comedy series’ back to back three year from 2014 to 2016!
