Charlene Choi is an actress and singer in Hong Kong. She was born on 22nd November 1982 in Vancouver, Canada. She has been a part of the Canto-pop group named Twins. She moved to Hong Kong a few years later with her family. She had her graduation from a renowned school, Rosaryhill where many pop artists visited. After her graduation, she began working as a model. She was discovered by EEG and then formed her Canto-pop group with Gillian Chung. She has not only been successful in her singing career but is also a renowned actress and has co-starred with actors like Nicholas Tse, Andy Lau, etc. She debuted in the year 2000, with Y2K a Television gig and in 2001 she bagged a role in the movie, Funeral March which has a hit at the theaters and the audience drew positive reviews for the movie. The actress was nominated for Best New Artist for the same movie.

In 2003, Charlene was the lead actress in Diva-Ah Hey where she portrayed as a young girl who fights against all the odds in life and society on her way to becoming a successful singer. Charlene evolved as a fantastic actress in 2005, psychological thriller Diary directed by Pang Brothers. The movie revolves around the story of a young woman who lives with her boyfriend. She stays alone at her apartment, cooks meals and carves wooden dolls and waits for her boyfriend to come back home. The movie continues when the audience realizes about the psychotic problem that the young man is facing.

Charlene has delivered an excellent performance in the movie and also won the Best Actress award for the same. Charlene has been excellent in different dialects; Cantonese, English, and Mandarin are some of these. Her brilliant acting in the film, “Simply Actors” also bagged her Best and Favorite Actress Award. Since her debut she has been a part of many movies like Calling for Love, Diary, Simply Actors, etc. all these films were a major hit at the theaters, and she rose to stardom and became familiar to the audience.

Beside her acting career, her musical career also had a takeoff, her first album; Touch of Love was a hit it included tracks Diva Ah Hey, Watching Movie Alone, etc. Charlene’s personal favorites were Little Sisters since it reminded Choi about her relationship with her mother regardless of her parents’ divorce. Choi was married to Ronald Cheng from until 2010 the reason for their separation hasn’t been revealed. Choi is currently with William Chan.
