Vin Scialla is an American actor, drummer, composer, bandleader, and artist who has traveled the world to perform his music. He has gained a Bachelor of Music degree from the reputed Hartt School of Music and has even received his Master in Music from the Conservatory at the Brooklyn College. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in the same. He has made an appearance as a Musician in crime show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), an uncredited role as Chantalle’s Brother in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and a cameo in the Drama TV series, The Deuce (2017). Vin manages to balance a career as a drummer and an instructor in the New York City.
The US Department of Defense has set him on entertainment tours to the Caribbean, Asia, Middle East and Egypt. Due to his rampant travels, his greatest innovation is the fusion of various types of music like Indian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and of course, American. Vin is extremely fascinated with Indian music, and he travels and records with Snehasish, and Neel, musical geniuses of Indian origin so that he can explore more into the Indian school of music.
He is also a gifted composer. His primary instrument is Drums. He conducts workshops for advanced level students, which is sponsored by Sennheiser and Neumann. His chief interest in Indian music is about the various Ragas, and they form the central themes around many of his compositions. He has a jazz album to his credit, which is titled “Wake Up!” Critics observed how Vin produced the highest and purest form of sound and the music was top-notch.
His art was lauded to transition beautifully from flashy to subtle, from laying down nuanced low profile to the ear-catching flamboyant and had a dash of astonishing wild and unexpected action. He supported Hillary Clinton the US Presidential Elections. He assisted in the composition of the music for Margarita With A Straw movie’s song “Choone Chali Aasman.” He also made a cameo appearance as a riot police holding a radio. Vin currently resides in New York City and works at the American Federation of Musicians; he is also associated with Dream Maker Talent Management LLC.
He has performed at the famous Lincoln Center in the New York City, Symphony Space, and also The Greenespace. He is associated with Lift Off Studio where his musical comedy documentary “The Prototypes” was launched. He occasionally produces music for Indie films when he is not busy collaborating to yield music otherwise. He continues to make tunes and music with Eric Schurgen under the “Wake Up!” jazz project.
