Tim Allen was born in Denver Colorado to Martha, a service worker and Gerald a real estate agent. He has five other brothers. When Allen was 11 his father was killed in a drunk driving accident. Allen attended Seaholm High School where he acted in theater class and played piano. He then went to Central Michigan for college and then transferred to Western Michigan. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications. Allen’s career was started as a comedian in 1975. Based on a friend’s dare he got up and performed at a local club one night. This performance would allow him to act in more commercials and small comedy shows. He rose to fame as the main character in the TV series, Home Improvement. The show ran from 1991 until 1999. During a week in November 1994, Allen had a best selling book, starred in Santa Claus which was #1 at the box office and appeared in the top television series, Home Improvement. In 1995 he provided the famous voice of Buzz Lightyear for Pixar’s Toy Story. In 1997 he starred in a Disney production called Jungle 2 Jungle. He returned in 1999 to voice Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 2. In 2006 he starred in Zoom, Shaggy Dog and The Santa Clause 3. Allen currently stars in the comedy on ABC called
Last Man Standing.
