Nathan Fillion is a endowed Canadian actor. He was born on March 27, 1971 at Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. He studied at Holy Trinity Catholic High School and Concordia University College of Alberta. Later, he attended University of Alberta where he joined the Kappa Alpha Society.

Nathan started her career in various theatre works, television and film productions. In 1994, he moved to New York City where he performed as Joey Buchanan in the soap opera, One Life to Live. He earned nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series at the Daytime Emmy Award in 1996. In year 1997, the actor left the show to attend to other projects. When he moved to L.A., he has done supporting role in the television sitcom, Two Guys and a Girl. Later, he was cast as Private James Frederick Ryan in the epic war film, Saving Private Ryan. He donned a recurring role in the final season of the television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Nathan also starred in the television series, Firefly as Malcolm ‘Mal’ Reynolds from which he earned many awards like the Syfy Genre Awards for Best Actor/Television. The show was later cancelled but was adapted in the big screen. Nathan reprised his role in the 2005 film, Serenity. He gave his voice to some animated series like King of the Hill, Jade Empire and Justice League Unlimited. He was starred as Bill Pardy in the horror film, Slither in 2006. In October of 2006, he signed a contract with the Fox Broadcasting Company and was later starred as Alex Tully on Fox Network’s television series, Drive. The series failed to attain high ratings so the network cancelled it on April 2007. He also reprised his role as Joey Buchanan in One Life to Live’s 9,999th and 10,000th episodes. Nathan acted as Dr. Adam Mayfair on Desperate Housewives and he first appeared in the ‘Now You Know’ episode of the series. He lent his voice in Xbox 360’s Halo 3, Halo3: ODST and Halo: Reach.
In 2009, he was starred as Richard Edgar Castle, a mysterious novelist in the crime drama series, Castle, where he received nominations for Best Actor – Television Series Drama at the Satellite Award. The show reaches its 7th season last May 8, 2014. 
He made a cameo appearance in the Season 5 Revolving Doors episode of the comedy series, The Guild. In 2011, Nathan made a guest-star appearance in the sitcom, Husbands where he essayed the role of an anchor. He acted as Dogberry in the romantic comedy film, Much Ado About Nothing in 2012, which is loosely based on the play of the same name by Shakespeare. He also acted in ‘The Daly Superheroes’ episode of The Daly Show.
