Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage is an American actor, widely known for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the series Game of Thrones. He was born on 11 June 1969 in New Jersey. His ancestry is English, Irish, and German. He has achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism which hampers the growth of bones. Although he had a tough time accepting the fact while growing up, he has now come to terms with it. He graduated from Bennington College in 1991 and began his journey as an actor.

He debuted in Living in Oblivion (1995) where he played a frustrated actor who is annoyed by the stereotypical roles given to dwarf actors. He garnered a lot of praise for his work. He then appeared in The Station Agent (2003) for which he was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild and Independent Spirit Awards for Best Actor.

He played the roles of Miles Finch, a children’s author in the movie Elf (2003). He has appeared on TV shows like Entourage (2004), Life As We Know It (2004) and Threshold (2005). He worked in the British movie Death At A Funeral (2007). He also played the same role in the movie’s American remake in 2010. He has also starred in Find Me Guilty (2006), Penelope (2006), Underdog (2007) and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008).

He gained worldwide fame and recognition with his award-winning portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the series Game of Thrones. He has become a favorite character in the series. He was said to be author George R. R. Martin’s first choice for the role of Tyrion Lannister.
