Matthew Fox is a well-known actor best known for his roles in American cinema and television series. He is popularly recognized for his role in ‘Lost’ the award-winning television drama series in which he appeared as ‘Jack Shephard’. He was born on the 14th of July in 1966 in Abington in Pennsylvania in the US. He was born as Matthew Chandler Fox to Francis G. Fox, an oil company consultant, and to Loretta B., a teacher. He has two siblings namely Bayard and Francis Jr. After his parents had moved to Wyoming, he completed his high school education from there and later joined the Deerfield Academy located in Deerfield. Later on, he obtained a major in Economics from Columbia University. 

Fox made his entry into the field of films after a lot of work on television. When he was still in his twenties, he was cast as ‘Ty Warner’ in one of the episodes of the famous NBC sitcom, ‘Wings’ in 1992. Later in the same year, he was cast as ‘Danny Foley’ in ‘Freshman Dorm’ and appeared as the boyfriend of Molly. He made his debut into cinema in the year 1993 in ‘My Boyfriend’s Back’ in which he was cast as ‘Buck Van Patten’. He made his debut into the film along with another legend in the Hollywood industry, Matthew McConaughey. 

Matthew is best known for the supernatural drama series, ‘Lost’. From the years 2004 to 2010, Matthew appeared as the famous surgeon, ‘Dr. Jack Shephard’ in ‘Lost’ for which he won several awards including Screen Actors Guild and Satellite Award. Some of the well-known movies he appeared in are ‘ World War Z’ in 2013, ‘Speed Racer’ in 2008, etc. Some of his best-known television shows include, ‘Party of Five’ from 1994 to 2000, and the Lost Series. He got married to Margherita Ronchi in 1992, and they have a daughter and a son named Kyle and Byron.

He was born in the city of New Britain in the Connecticut district in the United States of America. He was born into a family where he was the youngest boy among five other brothers. One of his brothers named Jozef was an actor who regularly performed on Broadway. He made an appearance in the 2003 film, ‘It Runs in the Family’ directed by Fred Schepisi where he was cast as a friend of Rory Culkin. In the year 2003, Matthew moved to Los Angeles where he decided to pursue acting full time.
