ITV’s Gladiators aired during 1992-2000 in the UK is that one show that made children and elders from all over the world interested in fitness, sports and healthy diet for eight years. What was that so special about this show, that gave so much enthusiasm and inspiration to be a buff to the viewers? The answer would be gladiators themselves. Every week, twelve superhuman power grids which include six men and six women would bully, intimidate, other weak contestants who came to try their luck in the show. Mark Griffin is well known for his role as Trojan in season 2 to 5 in Gladiator.

Born in the United Kingdom, Hampshire on 25 February 1968 he was always an enthusiast and played squash at the young age. During his school days, he was so dedicated to squash and became a county champion and competed for the under 19 world open squash championships. But by the time of 17, he realized that he wants to be on TV and decided he would one day make it happen. After completing his graduation in business management, he involved himself in bodybuilding and fitness. With Gladiators around the corner, he did his audition and got selected to be part of the Gladiators family. He was asked to choose a name for his role from Trojan, Terminator, and Commando. And it was Trojan he selected.

During his career as one of the gladiators, he came up with a signature dress and a sign he would do when he enters the arena. Pulling a long imaginary sword from his Lycra bodysuit became very famous during those days. With humble attitude and “seeing is believing” slogan he became one of the top gladiators with huge fandom

. He wrote down all his experiences of being a gladiator and released a book in 1995 with the title “My Life with the Gladiators” which also received a huge response from his fans. In this book, he wrote all the untold stories and behind the scenes of the Gladiators show. This book was nothing but a precious treasure for the diehard fans of Trojan. By the beginning of 1996, he moved to Los Angeles to make his dream come true in Hollywood. After his daughter Gabrielle's birth in 1997 with his fellow gladiator, Kate Staples aka zodiac his life reached a new milestone. Balancing both career and fatherhood, he did his first movie in 2001 in Doctor Dolittle 2.

While he was in Hollywood, he did many roles in short films and series. But Trojan was the one character that made him so popular that he went back to the UK permanently and immediately accepted to appear as Trojan in all three Legend v modern day gladiator. From late 2010 to 2015 he acted in various English series namely Doctor Who, the Smoke and few other.
