Jeff Daniels, whose full name is Jeffrey Warren Daniels is a playwright, music composer and an actor from America. He was born on the 19th of the month of February, 1955. He studied at the Central Michigan University and was involved in quite some of the theater work while he was there. Further, he studied at the Eastern Michigan University where he went to drama school. He gave his performance in several plays like The Hot I Baltimore while he was there. He got noticed by Marshall Mason, who directed some plays as a guest.
He asked Jeff Daniels to come down to New York City. In New York City, he performed in stage dramas like The Fifth of July. He bagged the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Drama Desk Awards event for his work in this play. He did many Broadway theater shows too, which include Redwood Curtain, The Golden Age and The Fifth of July. His shows which did not get played at Broadway are Lemon Sky and Johnny Got His Gun. He got shortlisted for The Best Actor in a Play Award of Tony Awards for the stage drama titled Blackbird. The first motion picture he acted in was Ragtime of 1981.
He then was a part of Terms of Endearment, which won an Oscar Award. He also received two Golden Globe awards Selections for films The Purple Rose of Cairo and Something Wild. In 1998, he did a movie named Pleasantville, which went on to win several Academy and other Awards. He owned a theater group named Purple Rose and made and starred a few movies under its banner, which include Super Sucker and Escanaba in Da Moonlight. He became an important part in the production of the motion picture conversion of the novel with the name of The Five People you meet in Heaven. Mitch Albom, the author, is a friend of Jeff Daniels.
