Fred Savage is an American director, producer, and actor. He was born in Highland Park in Illinois as Frederick Aaron Savage to Lewis and Joanne Savage. Lewis, his father, was an industrial real estate broker and consultant. Fred was brought up as Reform Jewish in Glencoe before they moved to California. He has two siblings, Ben, and Kala. Ben is also an actor, and his sister Kala is a musician and an actress. Fred’s grandparents were Jewish people who immigrated from Germany, Ukraine, Latvia, and Poland.Fred did his schooling from a private co-ed day school, Brentwood School, in Brentwood. Brentwood is a place in California’s Westside area of LA County (Los Angeles). In 1999, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English from Stanford University. He was also a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity.

Fred began his acting career at a tender age of nine. He acted in The Boy Who Could Fly in 1986. He was awarded the Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film. He was then seen as Philip in Dinosaurs!. His other works in motion pictures include Vice Versa, The Princess Bride, Little Monsters, Runaway Ralph, The Wizard, The Rules of Attraction, The Last Run, Austin Powers in Goldmember, and Welcome to Mooseport. He is most popularly known for his role Kevin Arnold in The Wonder Years and has bagged many nominations and awards for the same, including People’s Choice Award, Young Artist Award, Golden Globe Award, Primetime Emmy Award, and Viewers for Quality Television Award. Fred was also nominated for the Critic’s Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for The Grinder. Savage won the Saturn Award in 1990 for Vice Versa. Fred tried his hand at directing with the Working TV show in 1999. He directed one episode of the show.

Savage married his childhood companion Jennifer Stone. They both were neighbors in their early days. He proposed to her with a five-carat sapphire ring purchased from the Neil Lane Jewellers. The wedding took place in Los Angeles at the L’ Orangerie Restaurant. In the memory of his childhood friends, Fred requested all the wedding guests that instead of gifts they provide donations to the Children’s Hospital Cancer Centre. The couple has a son and a daughter, Oliver Philip Savage, and Lily Aerin Savage respectively.
