Emilio Echevarría

Emilio was born in the year 1944 in Mexico City, Mexico. The exact date of his birth and his parents are not known. He was born in an ordinary family and progressed as a normal child. He went to school and then joined college. He never had any interest towards acting during his childhood times. After finishing his studies, he got married. The couple had one daughter named Lourdes Echevarria. Only after the birth of his daughter, he received several opportunities to enter into the cinema field. It is to be noted that his daughter came as a lucky charm to his family. So, he decided to make Lourdes as an artist as well.

In 1978, he started his career in acting. He became a member of Constitution of Art and Society. In 2000, he acted alongside his daughter in the film AmoresPerros. It is a Mexican thriller film directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarittu. The film contains three different stories which are connected by a car accident. The theme of the film revolves around the activities of humans towards animals and other humans. The film got appreciated by the audience and the critics. It got nominated for Academy Awards. It also won Best Foreign Language Film Award.

Some of the other awards include BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in English, Critic’s Prize in 2000 Cannes Film Festival, Grand Prix Award of Belgian Syndicate of Cinema Critics. The movie got a place in Empires’s list of 500 greatest movies of all time in the year 2008. In 2001, he got another chance to act in a Mexican drama film Y Tu Mama Tambien that portrays about sex and drug use in this world. After performing well in his recent performances, he got roles in International Films. He played small parts in James Bond movie Die Another Day.

The movie was a blockbuster hit when it got released in 2002. Another film in which he played a small role is The Alamo. It is an American Film that portrays the Battle of Alamo during the Texas Revolution. The movie got released in 2004. The movie welcomed good appreciations. In 2007, Emilio was back to his hometown with the movie El Bufalo de la Noche (The Night Buffalo) that revolves around a youth who commits suicide after knowing his girlfriend has a secret relationship with his best friend. In 2011, he starred in the Mexican Premier Memories of My Melancholy Whores.
