Dennis Quaid

Dennis Quaid is born on 9 April in 1954 in Houston, Texas, USA. He is an American actor widely famous for his comedy roles. His parents were Juanita Bonniedale, a real estate agent and Rudy Quaid, who is an electrician. He learnt Mandarin, acting in dramas when he was a student at Bellaire High School. Then he continued to study at Houston University. He dropped from the school before he could finish his degree. His brother Randy Quaid is already having a successful career in acting. So he moved to his brother in Los Angeles and carried to pursue a film with his brother. When he as in Bellaire High School, he got a nickname of Dennis Quand because he was so obsessed with the Bond film character. He acted in Breaking Away in 1979 and The Right Stuff in 1983 and very good reviews.

He is well known for his comedic and dramatic roles. He starred in the films Enemy Mine in 1985, Innerspace in 1987 and The Big Easy in 1987. He also got name and fame for his role of Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire in 1989. He also acted in a lead role for the song ‘Thing Called Love’, the Bonnie Raitt music video. Then he has worked in many movies like 'Dragonheart', 'The Parent Trap', 'Any Given Sunday', 'The Rookie', 'Frequency', 'In Good Company', 'Far from Heaven', 'Vantage Point' and many more. He has done a guest cameo appearance in the episode of SpongeBob SquarePants played the role of Captain Redbeard in 2009. He also played as Bill Clinton US President in the film The Special Relationship in 2010. He recently played the role of Vegas TV Drama series.

He also received many awards. He got New York Film Critics Circle Award for his role in Far from Heaven for Best Supporting Award, Online Film Critics Society Award for the same, and many more. He also received nominations for Best Supporting Actor for many other awards. He was married three times. There have been accusations against him about substance abuse. He had a history of abuse of cocaine.

He has also done many charity works like Dennis Quaid Charity Weekend in Austin. He also works in New Orleans with International Hospital for Children. Apart from acting, he is also a great musician. He plays with a band The Sharks. He has a license for a plane. He is also a five handicap golfer. He was also considered in the film BJ and the Bear in 1978 for the role of BJ Mckay. Finally by 2015, he acted in three films which were nominated for Best Picture Oscar for The Right Stuff, Traffic and Breaking Away.
