Actor, director and screenwriter, Burr Gore Steers, famously known to the movie industry as Burr Steers, was born on 8 October, 1965, in Washington D.C, USA. His parents were Newton Ivan Steers, Jr, and Nina Gore Auchincloss. Aaron Burr, one of the Vice Presidents of USA, is his grandfather. Burr Steers has two brothers, Ivan Steers and Hugh Auchincloss Steers, and five step-siblings. He could not complete a perfect schooling. Hotchkiss School and Culver Military Academy expelled him due to some reasons. Then he managed to get the General Education Certificate from New York University. Then, he tried his way in acting.

Burr Steers aimed to get into the film industry in as many ways as possible. He played some minor roles like Roger in Pulp Fiction, The Last Days of Disco, etc. He also voiced a character in Reservoir Dogs. Then, he came out as a writer and director.

By 2002, he had the confidence of making a film and worked on it. His self-written and directed movie, Igby Goes Down, hit the theaters in September 2002. The plotline runs around Igby Slocumb, a misanthrope by nature, who leaves the family because of uncertainties in his relationships. How he grew up makes the climax. With his very first movie, he garnered major accolades in the film industry and with the people. This flick starred Kieran Culkin, Bill Pullman, and Claire Dawns, among others. Igby Goes Down got many nominations and won some prestigious awards like Sierra Award and Critic's Choice Award in Best Actor Category.

Burr Steers is a part of the crew for How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, ‘Weeds’, The New Normal, etc. Then, he directed the movie, 17 Again, and Julius Caesar. With the 2016 cinema, Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, he became the best-known director in Hollywood. It was a horror treat at the beginning of the year.
