Having featured on the cover of the Playboy magazine at the age of 20, Kelly Monaco is an American model, television presenter, and actress. Kelly was born in a family of five sisters which included her, to parents Albert and Carmina Monaco. The family relocated to Poconos where Kelly completed her education from the Poconos Mountain East High School. Monaco discovered her love for the theater during various skits and stage plays during her High school days. Post high school, Kelly undertook further education at the Northampton Community College, and also served as a part-time lifeguard at a local Poconos resort. To fulfill her life-long dream of pursuing modeling as a career, Kelly sent her portfolio to the Playboy magazine in the year 1996, resulting in her getting selected, and consequently featuring on the cover of the April 1997 issue of Playboy. Kelly appeared as the Playmate of the Month, and the following years also saw her in various front pages of the magazine.
Kelly's work for Playboy resulted in her pocketing a role in the well-known television serial Baywatch, in the years 1997, and 1998. Monaco often appeared as the body double of the ravishing actress Carmen Electra, who didn't have any prior coaching in swimming. Kelly also featured in brief roles in movies such as "BASEketball," Welcome to Hollywood, Mumford, and Idle hands. In 1999, Kelly was a part of the soap opera Port Charles, for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award. The year 2003 saw Monaco play the character of Samantha McCall in the television drama General Hospital. Kelly was a recipient of another Daytime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. In 2006, Kelly Monaco participated in the reality television competition "Dancing with the Stars," and was adjudged the winner along with professional dance partner Alec Mazo. The following year saw Monaco co-host the 33rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards with Tom Bergeron, and she also featured on the cover page of the prestigious Maxim magazine.
Kelly has also featured in other television serials such as Dirty Soap, and the 15th edition of Dancing with the Stars. Off screen, Kelly has been involved in charity as part of an ensemble visiting Kenya to support the works of Feed the Children organization.
