Mike Hill, born in 1952, Omaha, Nebraska is a film editor, popularly known for working with fellow editor Dan Hanley and director Ron Howard. Working with Howard and Hanley on Night Shift (1982) was a dream come true for Mike, as he used to work at Chino Prison in California as a guard in his early days. In 1972, Mike graduated with a degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
He started his editing career by working on television programs and short films. The trio of Mike, Hanley, and Howard won the Oscar award for Apollo 13 in 1995. Apart from that, they have been nominated for the same in 2001 (A Beautiful Mind), 2005 (Cinderella Man), and 2008, (Frost/Nixon).
