Nance Ackerman is an English director and photographer associated with the film and television industry. She lived in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, Canada. She studied at Western University and went to University of King's College for Masters of Journalism. She is a director, photographer, editor and composer. Her works have been featured in Canadian Geographic, Time, New York Times, Newsweek, etc. She has years of experience in visual storytelling and documentary filming. Her filmmaking works include Cottonland in 2006, Fid in 2007, Little Thunder and Four Feet Up in 2009, Conviction and Behind the Bhangra Boys in 2019, and In the Quiet and the Dark in 2023. Nance also contributes to the projects at Heartstring Productions. Over the years, she has been a part of several award winning projects, and was also nominated for Gemini Award for best direction in a documentary program.
