MARV NEWLAND, an American – Canadian filmmaker. He was an expert in making films in animation. He started his career in Los -Angles, where he began his career by making animated motion pictures. His first film was Bambi Meets Godzilla. Later, for some years, he worked for commercial advertisement. Then he shifted to Canada in 1970. In Canada, he began his animation career. In 1973, He created storyboards for the animated television series Barba papa. During this period, his first film Bambi Meets Godzilla was viewed widely in US when this film telecasted with Thanku Mask Man.
In 1975, he started his own company, International Rocketship Limited, in Vancouver. At Rocketship, he produced and directed various animated short films like Sing Beast Sing, Anijam Hooray for Sandbox Land, etc. He also worked for several short films as a director like Tales from the Far Side. Besides his company, he also worked for several other companies.
His works include The Preacher’s Life, Fear of Black Cat, etc. In 2001, he Collabed with other directors and produced films like Friday Night Idiot Box, Explodium, etc Later in 2008, he launched a project named POSTALOLIO, a 2D animated film, where paintings were handmade. This film was launched under the banner of International Rocketship Limited. Animation shows of show included his film Anijam. He was also a writer, and his famous publication was “Drawing from sketchbook”.
