He has also worked as a co-writer in a novel called Liar of Kudzu again with Bob Schooley. He has been working together on Disney Channel TV series since the Goof Troop days of the 1990s. In 2012, Mark won the Emmy in the Outstanding Animated Program category for his work as an executive producer and writer in Nickelodeon's The Penguins of Madagascar. Again in 2018, he got nominated for Big Hero 6: The Series but unfortunately didn’t achieve it. In one of the interviews, Mark says that he had learned pretty early that sometimes it pays for a person to be virtuous.
If you are a master in your skills, you can get away with being a jerk sometimes. But when he looked around, he realized that he must do his best work. He is somebody who tries to reach out to younger talents to boost them up as at this time, so many shows are made on different sorts of platforms; he thinks it’s the best time for them to join kids’ shows. He says it would be great if he can develop the next Mark. Currently, he lives in Los Angeles.
