ChalkZone’s Director, George Chialtas, held this position. Since 1988, he has been involved with animation. He was born on May 27, 1953 in Beverly Hills, California, U.S.A. He is a writer and filmmaker best known for his works on Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1992), Dora the Explorer (2000) and CatDog (1998). Chialtas said that when he was younger, he and his sister frequently visited movie theaters. There the two would explain to the usher what the movie was about, with Chialtasproviding an illustration to support his explanation. He said that’s when his interest in art began.
Eventually. He relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he sharpened his abilities at the animation workshop at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). He was a timing director and animator for Rocko’s Modern Life, his first Nickelodeon production. Chialtas directed the CatDog pilot episode “Dog Gone,” as well as episodes of Hey Arnold! Chialtas directed several Dora the Explorer episodes, as well as the show’s specials, between the years 2000 and 2010. He was the supervising director of animation for the Rocko special Static Cling in 2019. George likes to create paper sculptures in his spare time and displays them in his Nickelodeon workplace.
