Ian McDiarmid was born in Scotland, the United Kingdom on 11th August 1944. He is an actor by profession and also directed many dramas and movies. He was five years old when he used to visit aficionado. While watching the play, he got fascinated by it and wanted to explore the world of theater. He wanted to act and play different artist on-stage. He received his primary education from the University of St. Andrews.
He graduated from there with a degree in psychology. He wanted to pursue acting as a career, but his father did not support his dreams. But soon after his education was over, he joined courses and learned acting from Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He is active in the industry since 1968. His career breakthrough performance came in Seduced where he portrayed as an over aged character and he cast himself as an old man with a false beard and weird sense. His acting set the stage on fire and was able to convince the audience that he had the potential and flow that an actor requires. Ian debuted with “Dragonslayer” where he played a minor part but came to the light of many directors. After this George cast him as The Emperor in “Return of the Jedi”. He was the main villain of the flick.
He is the perfect villain, and came back with the same role in the sequel to the Return of the Jedi. The critics appreciated his performance and the audience loved the dark character played by him. Ian acted in many television series which includes The Professionals, and also played as a psychopathic con artist in an episode of Inspector Gadget.
