Born on January 10, 1960, Gurinder Chadha is a famous film director of Hollywood who belongs to Kenya and Asia. She is a Punjabi and belongs to the Sikh religion. The theme of most of her movies was to explore the lifestyle, conditions, and situations of the Indians who live in the country of England. She is famous for her movies like Bend It Like Beckham, Bhaji on the Beach, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, Bride and Prejudice, etc. In the year 2010, she worked on a British comedy movie named ‘It's a Wonderful Afterlife’ as the director of the film. She was born in a place called Nairobi in the country of Kenya, which was a British colony at that time. Her father had to face a lot of prejudice as he appeared like a Sikh because he used to have a beard and always wore a turban. She completed her graduation from the English public research university named the University of East Anglia in the academic years 1984-85 and continued her studies to become a holder of the degree of post-graduation.

She started her career in the mid-1980s in the media of radio. She later shifted to TV as a news reporter in the British public service broadcaster named the BBC. She formed a production company in the year 1990 and produced her first movie in the year 1991 named Nice Arrangement, which was an 11-minute movie based on a British Asian wedding ceremony. The file was selected in the year 1991 for the section of the Cannes Film Festival. Bhaji on the Beach, a British comedy-drama film directed by her was her first feature film, which was known for winning many international awards. She directed the film titled Bend It Like Beckham in the year 2002, which was a British romantic sports and comedy-drama family film. She also directed the film named Bride and Prejudice, a British-American-Indian romantic drama film in the year 2004. She left the chance of directing a feature film of Dallas, a famous TV series in the year 2007 even after the confirmation of BBC that she would direct the film. She next participated in the epic drama based on the theme of Indian Independence and its partition, which was released in the year 2012.

It was announced that she was on a plan to make the second part of the film named Bend It Like Beckham, the romantic comedy film, which was a hit. She hoped the return of the three leading actors of the film. She was invited as a guest on the talk show named Desert Island Discs on BBC Radio 4 in the year 2015.
