Daniel Lee

Daniel Lee whose full name is Daniel Lee Yan-Kong, is a famous and well-esteemed director, screenwriter, assistant director, and art director. He was born on 27th April 1960 in Hong Kong. He is 56 years of age. He started his career by making video clips and later became artistic director and assisted on many films. He assisted director Ann Hui. He was inspired by Chinese traditional paintings. He got influenced by their colors and compositions. His first movie was a blend of all those art forms. Tsui Hark was very inspired by his work and asked him to direct ‘The Eight Assassins.’ He worked in many genres of filmmaking like directing, writing, art direction, etc. But he worked on most of the films as a director. His first movie as a director was ‘What Price Survival.’ The movie released in 1994. In 1996 his well-appreciated movie ‘Black Mask’ released.

He directed a romantic movie as well named ‘Till Death Do Us Apart.’ It released in 1998. Another movie ‘Moonlight Express’ came in 1999. In 200 he directed ‘A Fighter’s Blues.’ ‘Star Runner’ under his direction released in 2003. In 2005 he worked on ‘Dragon Squad.’ In 2008 another movie based on dragons named ‘Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of The Dragon’ came out. He directed ’14 Blades’ in 2010. He was the co-writer of the movie ‘Star Runner’ and of the movie ‘Dragon Squad.’ He wrote the story of his own movie Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of The Dragon (2008). He was the co-writer of this movie as well. In 2015 he wrote ‘Dragon Blade.’ He worked as an art director as well.
