Stanley Tong

Tong was born in Hong Kong on April 7, 1960. He studied in Hong Kong and Canada. He was encouraged to start his career in the film industry by his brother in law who is a moviemaker. He then started his career in the cinema industry by the year 1979 by working for some of the scenes.

By 1991, he began his direction for his first movie The Stone Age Warriors which was funded by him. The show reached a great success by getting praise from several critics of the industry. That talkie grasped the attention of the Golden Harvest which is a film production company. He was invited there to join them as a cinema director. He worked closely with several artists of which Jackie Chan is most common. He was known for his action pictures.

He directed several wanted talkies by the year 1990. He also joined him in some more movies such as Police Story 4: first strike and Rumble in the Broke. Those shows also created several significant impacts in the industry for their story and action. Those movie collected around HK$57,518,795 which was the greatest box office hit made in the Hong Kong until the year 2001.

The release of the Rumble in the USA made Chan gain a separate unique place in the Hollywood industry. Tong has the habit of attempting the stunt in the movies before he asks the heroes to take them up. Such events include the Final of The Stone Age Warriors and in Rumble the fire incident. He directed some of the movies while he was staying in Hollywood which was not up to the level of expectation. After that, he returned to his hometown Shanghai to inspire the future generation moviemakers in China and directed some of the cinemas like China Strike Force. By the year 2005, he made The Myth and also Dragon Blood.

Apart from making plays, he also directed several TV series such as The Patriot Yue Fei and Fall in Love with You. Apart from producing films, he also participated in several charity works in USA and China. He also took the guest lecture to inspire the future filmmakers of China by motivating them. He was also invited as a guest for the International Film festival of the year 2012. He appeared as a guest judge for the Tv Reality Show the Disciple.
