Christophe Gans is a French director, a screenwriter, and a producer born on March 11, 1960, in Antibes, France. His sense of creativity can be seen in his movies, which are mostly horror or fantasy films. He created his first short film, Silver Slime in 1981 when he was studying in Idhec, the French film school. It was meant to be the homage to Maria Bava. He spent almost ten years as a cinema critic absorbing and understanding the nook and corner of the film industry during those times. In 1982, he started the magazine Starflix.

In 1993, he co-directed his first movie Necronomicon. It was the first part of the 3 part sequel. In 1995, he took another avatar in his profession by crediting himself with fight choreography apart from the direction and writing for the film 'Crying Freeman'. He then created a video collection called HK, exclusively made as a tribute to Hong Kong movies. He then brainstormed to work on the adaptation of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but he was unable to complete it, and so the project was dropped.

In 1999, he was approached for an entirely different movie the Beast of Gevaudan, about an unknown animal that hunted down many people in France at the end of the eighteenth century. In 2001, he completed the movie and released it in January 2001 titled 'Brotherhood of the Wolf'. The whole budget for the motion picture was about $29 million. As the film became a box-office success, it collected over $70 million worldwide in theatres. The hit movie was the second highest earning French film in the U.S. After this triumph, Gans became one of the members of the Jury of the 9th Fantastic Film Festival of Gerardmer.

In 2004, he turned producer for the movie 'Saint Ange'. He directed the movie 'Labor of Love' and then went on to create a film that was supposedly to be a video game adaptation by the name 'Silent Hill', in 2006. He faced so many struggles in the making of this movie as he was not given the rights to produce the film. As the picture became a huge hit, he was initially hired to do the sequel for it, and he was excited to work again on this project. Unfortunately, Gans was not able to make it as he was busy with another film adaptation Onimusha, but the project got out of hands. In 2014, he directed the ' Beauty and the Beast A fantasy- musical film directed by Bill Condon, B >> Read More... '.
