Steven Price was born on 22nd April 1977. He is a British film composer and is popular for his work in the movie Gravity, which fetched him the Academy Award for Best Original Score. He started his career as a composer with Attack the Block. He also worked on the music for some films such as the Batman Begins, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Price started playing the guitar at the age of five.
Later he achieved the best degree in Music from Emmanuel College, Cambridge. After his graduation, he began working with guitarist and producer Andy Gill, for whom he contributed string arrangements, programmed and played on albums alongside great artists such as Bono and Michael Hutchence. Price went on to work as an arranger, programmer, and performer with music composer Trevor Jones. He laid down additional music for movies like The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen by Stephen Norrington, Around the World in 80 Days by Frank Coraci, and Thirteen Days by Roger Donaldson.
He also added music to the television series Crossroads by
and Dinotopia. Abbey Road Studios gave him recommendation which brought him to the limelight of
. It led to his work with the composer as a music editor for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Price also worked as a music editor in movies like Batman Begins, due to which he was nominated for the Golden Reel Award. In his first project called the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World with

He provided original music to Richard Curtis' movie

Price also won awards from both the Sitges-Catalonian International Film Festival and Austin Film Critics Association for his composition of the original score for Joe Cornish's Attack the Block. In 2013, Price composed the musical arrangement for Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity, for which he was awarded the Academy Award for Best Original Score.
