Ilan Eshkeri is a composer for British movies whose birthplace is London. He played in a rock band, on the guitar and the violin, when he was merely a child. The first movie that he prepared the musical score for was 2001’s Trinity. Ilan tasted fame after Back to Gaya, following which he prepared the score for Matthew Vaughn’s Layer Cake. This won him a nomination at the World Soundtrack Awards for Discovery of the Year. He also collaborated with Vaughn on movies such as Stardust and an adaptation of Kick-Ass. For his work on Stardust, Eshkeri won the Best Original Score at the International Film Music Critics Association, and also gained him a nomination for Breakout Composer of the Year. Another film that he prepared the score for in 2007, Strength and Honour, won him the Best Soundtrack award at the Malibu Film Festival.
He received a BAFTA nomination in the year 2010. This was for his work as a music producer on the film Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll. His work in the movie The Young Victoria also won him a nomination for the Best Original Score at the Ivor Novello Awards.
