Nicholas Edward Gonzalez (born January 3, 1976) is an American entertainer. He is most famous for playing the parts of Alex Santiago in the television series Resurrection Blvd. and Dr. Neil Melendez in the ABC television series, The Good Doctor.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Gonzalez attended Central Catholic High School in San Antonio. He got his English degree from Stanford University in California. He returned to Europe after completing his courses at Oxford and Trinity College, Dublin. While at Stanford, he started participating in theater. After moving on from Stanford in 1998, Gonzalez chose acting. In 1998, Gonzalez moved to Los Angeles, where he began doing minor roles in TV series like ABC's Dharma and Greg and NBC's One World.
Gonzalez then played Fidel Castro's child in My Little Assassin, starring Joe Mantegna and Gabrielle Anwar. He appeared on MTV's Undressed.
His film Scenes of the Crime was screened at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. It starred Jeff Bridges, Jon Abrahams, and Noah Wyle. Dominique Forma directed it. His next film, Spun, featured Mena Suvari, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy, and John Leguizamo. It premiered at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. Gonzalez played the lead in Resurrection Blvd., which was released on June 26, 2000. Gonzalez played Alex Santiago.
While proceeding with his Resurrection Blvd., Gonzalez played in Walker, Texas Ranger, The Princess and the Barrio Boy (released as She's in Love in Europe) with his Resurrection Blvd. co-star, Marisol Nichols.
In 2018, Gonzalez received an Award from the National Hispanic Media Coalition for his "Exceptional Performance in a Television Series."
