Eric Szmanda is an American actor and is well known for his role in Crime Scene Investigation as Greg Sanders, a part he held from the show's starting in 2000 until it wrapped up in 2015. Eric was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and when he was still a kid, his family moved to Mukwonago, Wisconsin. Szmanda has studied at Mukwonago High School and completed his college education at Carroll College. During his studies, Szmanda began marketing internships with music conglomerate BMG and relocated to Chicago, Illinois, to pursue a full-time career in the music industry. After four years, he completed his studies and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California.
Szmanda made his television debut in The Net, a show based on the 1995 film of the same name. Szmanda played Greg Sanders, a DNA technician, and investigator, in the first two seasons of the CBS police drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In the third season, he acted in the main cast and stayed on the show until the fifteenth season, which ended in September 2015. With the end of CSI, Szmanda signed with Abrams Artists Agency, which will represent him in his future theatre, television, and film endeavors. But, since CSI's demise, Szmanda hasn't had many credits to his name. In 2018, he starred in the apocalyptic sci-fi thriller Shangri-La: Near Extinction.
