Born in 1947, David William Yelland is English Tv, Theatre, and film actor. He studied English at the Magdalene College in Cambridge. He then worked as an actor at the Glasgow Citizen's Theatre and has performed in many stage plays and dramas. He is known for his role as Edward VII in the 1981 film Chariots of Fire. He was the lead role in the BBC television series David Copperfield ( 1974). In 1995, he portrayed Nicolas Rumpole in Rumpole and Bailey, a Thames Television series.
Yelland has given many notable performances on other Tv programs like Nancy Astor (1982), A Little Princess (1987), Agatha Christie's Poirot (1989), The Line of Beauty (2006), Midsomer Murders (2007- 2016), Foyle's War (2010), The Crown (2016), Father Brown (2017), Endeavour (2017), and in films like Othello (1981), Spider's Web (1982), The Life Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (2001), Coriolanus (2011), Private Peaceful (2012), Happy End (2017), and Hunter Killer (2018).
