Carlo Bonomi is an Italian clown and voice artist, who is well-known for voicing popular characters for many children’s television series. He was born on March 12, 1937, in Milan, Italy. Originally, Bonomi started his career as a commentator. He used to host ‘Gran premio Eurovisione della canzone 1965’. In the 1960s, he finally switched to voice acting. Eventually, his voice became very loved by the masses and his recorded voice got used for announcements in Milano Centrale Railway Station till 2008. He became increasingly popular for his work in the children's stop-motion animated comedy series “ Pingu Pingu is a British-Swiss stop-motion clay animated >> Read More... ”(1990-96).
He voiced all the penguin characters in the series and created grammelot penguinese, which included a lot of babbling, muttering and honking. The show became very popular and ran for about 4 seasons. He is also known for voice acting in “La Linea”(1971-86). He provided laughter noises in a cartoon series called “Stripy” in 1984. He provided voices for the Italian versions of “Mickey Mouse” and “Fred Flintstone”. He was also very active in Italian radio dramas. He provided voices for the yellow tribe in “Spore”(2008) and took retirement from his long career later that year.
