Starke received a cinematic part of “Dean Conroy" as a paralyzed teenager in the CBS Movie of the Week, “First Steps.” He studied at the prestigious “Marquette University” on a “Liberace Foundation Scholarship for Performance.” His first film, “Nothing in Common,” starring Jackie Gleason and Tom Hanks as Cameron.
