Anthony Head

Anthony Head is an England actor and singer. He was born on 20th February 1954 in Camden Town, London, England. Most of his family were professionally related to the film industry. His father, Seafield Laurence Stewart Murray Head was a filmmaker and the founder of Verity Films, whereas his mother Helen Shingler was an actress. His older brother, Murray Head was also an actor and singer. Anthony used to act as the emperor in a little show his mother's friends made, called “The Emperor's New Clothes” while he was about six. Since then, he confirmed that this is the business he wanted to do for the rest of his life.

Besides acting and music, he is also avid in activities like horse riding, swimming, and scuba diving. Moreover, he is also trained in piano, guitar and stage fighting. He earned a degree from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He got married to Sarah Fisher in 1982. He found his first-ever role in the musical “Godspell”(1971) which led to more projects with BBC and ITV. After that, he appeared on the ITV series “Enemy At The Door”(1978-80). He gave the backing vocals for a band called “Red Box” in the early 1980s. In 1983, he got himself in a band called “Two way” which released a 45 single with three songs. He found wider recognition after appearing in the “Storyline Series Of Twelve Coffee Commercials” for Nescafé Gold Blend.

He accepted a role in the series “ Buffy The Vampire Slayer Joss Whedon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe fame >> Read More... ” in 1997 for which he lived full-time in The United States till early 2020s. He made several guest appearances in many Television series, Marvel movies and many more. While the 2000s he appeared in many films and series as the Prime Minister in “Little Britain' (2003–2006), and Uther Pendragon in “Merlin' (2008–2012). He also voiced Herc Shipwright in BBC “Radio 4's Cabin Pressure”. He had been honoured with many awards throughout his career, including The Golden Statuette in Prague Independent Film Festival in 2016, Online Film & Television Association Award in 2021 and International Online Cinema Award in 2021. He was also nominated for Golden Derby Awards in 2021 for “Ted Lasso”(2020).
