Michael Alan Brierley is a cinematographer, assistant director and producer. Brierley lives in the Czech Republic with his wife and children. He began his career in television and film in 1984 working in the camera department. He worked as a camera assistant in numerous feature films. Michael became a cinematographer in 1996 and since then has shot more than 600 commercials since. He shot his first film in 2000.

', which was nominated for the 77th shot Academy Award for Best Foreign Film category called 'Yesterday'. He also produced a short film called 'The Well'. He is a member of the South African Society of Cinematographers (SASC). He used to shoot and direct commercials, but then he started concentrating on long formats.
