The 11th Indian Telly Awards, also known as 2012 Indian Telly Awards are a prestigious celebration of the best of the best in the Indian Television World. They were hosted to honor the television shows of 2012 and all the people who worked on and off the screen in these shows. It was started in 2001 and was created by Anil Wanwari. Anil Wanwari is the CEO of indiantelevision.com. He is also known to be on the board of International Academy of Television Awards and Sciences who are known to run the well-known Emmys. The awards are divided into three groups. These categories include Jury, Technical and popular.
The awards took place on May 31, 2012, and was aired on Colors TV. Well-known actors
Ronit Roy and
Ram Kapoor hosted the show together. Along with them, famous comedian and actor
Manish Paul and the talented
Roshni Chopra did the hosting. The Television Awards Blue Carpet was hosted by the beautiful and talented
Mona Singh and Manish Paul. The winners on this auspicious night were, in the male categories, Ram Kapoor in Bade Acche Lagte Hain won the best actor Popular award. Best Actor Jury went to
Manish Wadhwa as Chanakya in the TV show Chandragupta Maurya.
Best Comic Actor Popular went to
Dilip Joshi as Jethalal Gada in Tarak Mehta Ka OOlta Chashma. Best supporting actor goes to
Anup Soni for his portrayal of Bhairon Singh in
Balika Vadhu. The Best Negative Actor Award goes to
Karanvir Bohra as Viraj Dobriyal in Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava. The best television personality went to Ronit Roy as advocate K. D. Pathak in Adaalat. The winners on the female side were as follows; Best Actress popular went to
Giaa Manek as Gopi Modi in Saath Nibhana Saathiya.

Sakshi Tanwar as Priya Ram Kapoor in Bade Acche Lagte Hain. Best actress in a comic role went o
Kavita Kaushik as inspector Chautala in FIR. The best actress for the supporting role went to
Rupal Patel as Kokila Parag Modi in Saath Nibhana Saathiya. The best negative actress award went to
Kanika Maheshwari who portrayed Meenakshi Rathi in Diya Aur Baati Hum. The best television personality female is
Ankita Lokhande for personifying Archana Deshmukh in Pavitra Rishta.
The awards had numerous memorable dance and singing performances by various artists and airs on Colors TV. The awards ceremony took place on the campus grounds of Bhavan’s College in Andheri Mumbai.
