Plot

A government school headmistress tries hard to save the school from the people, who tries to destroy it. The school staffs find it tough to face her, as she is a perfect teacher. Like the staffs in the school dislike her, the local MLA who runs a school wants to pull down Geetha, who moves friendly with the children and strict to the staffs. How Geetha works hard to save the school and wins her ambition is the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Jyothika once again proves her worth. She is perfect as a teacher and her body language are good. Although all the stars in Raatchasi are good performers, due to the weak characterization, they lose their importance.

Analysis

The people who have watched the trailer had rightly guessed the story and there is no unexpected twist and turns. As Jyothika said, these kind of subjects are a must in our society and nothing wrong in making a similar genre repeatedly to educate the people. But, the point is that the screenplay should be engaging. That is the drawback of Raatchasi. Except for Jyothika’s Geetha Rani, none of the characters are developed well. The villains’ characters should have been strong. However, the film is specially designed for the people, who speak low about government schools. If there is an excellent teacher, the education will be of high quality in the government schools is the core plot of Raatchasi. The production and technical values are good.

Verdict

Although Raatchasi carries a good script and a message, if the characterization had been better, then the film would have impressed better. However, Raatchasi is definitely a one-time watch for Jyo’s stunning performance.
